TRAINING

The driver training we offer is done on your site using your trucks. Duration of the course may vary and depends on the complexity of the equipment and the prior experience of the trainee.

All training is carried out by instructors who are registered with The Independent Training Scheme and Register (ITSSAR). This is now the leading body for industrial truck operator and instructor standards. Certificates issued are recognised by the Health and Safety Executive and are nationally accepted by industry.

As a general indication the following time scales can be used.

LIMITED OR NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE
The duration of the basic course for up to 3 operators is 3 days, 2 operators 2.5 days, 1 operator 2 days.

SKILLED OPERATORS
Half day theory at which all operators can attend with no limit on the numbers. This is followed by individual one day training.

REFRESHER TRAINING
Every 3 years is normally considered adequate for refresher training. 3 operators can be tested per day.

CONVERSION TRAINING
This is to enable experienced operators to extend the range of vehicles they are allowed to operate i.e. reach truck to counterbalance training. Up to 3 operators can be trained in 1 day.
